Approximately half an hour away from the resort: Kijal Lemang The locals rave about their lemang (rice cooked in bamboo shoots), specifically the ones that are available in Kijal...and after sampling some, you'll know why. Cooked to perfection in a concoction of coconut milk, spices and seasoning, the lemang at Kijal is worth all the calories you'll gain! A regular roadside stall churns about 200 sticks on a normal day, and runs into the thousands during the Hari Raya celebrations. you can get the hotel to help place an order for you, or if you simply want to sample some, they can make the necessary arrangement.
